[Forums.ASP.NET] Paths in ASP.NET MVC. Need advice

Hello,

I save many paths fo images, documents and so on in a SQL database as follows:

Products/Images/p1.jpg

Products/Brochures/d1.jpg

But when I display, for example, the image I get an error because the path it is not in "~/Products/Images/p1.jpg".

Usually I add the ~/ in the controller to all assets.

Should I save the path in my database as "~/Products/Images/p1.jpg" ... this does not make sense to me.

It makes more sense to me to create an Html helper that would add the ~/ to the path.

What should I do?

And how should I create this helper?

[Forums.ASP.NET] how to host a page in IIS (in MVC)

I’m having a problem in creating a IIS virtual directory and accessing it through controller pages.

What I did:

Create a class library.

Add test.vm file in the test folder.

In TestController folder created an action called GetTest.

Then I created a new virtual directory in IIS and give the folder path.

But still I couldn’t host the file.

(Normally we should access them through controllers. Not view pages)

Is this the correct way of doing that?

If not can someone tell me how to access my controller page through a browser?

I want to access them in the way given below:

http://localhost/mvcsample/Product/AllProducts.ed
